Learn to (better) accept your body and enjoy your summer!
The #summerbody avalanche has indeed started on social networks, but also in our minds, imagining ourselves in swimsuits in a few weeks.
But why is there such pressure around this deadline? Aren’t summer vacations supposed to relax us and sweep away the stresses of everyday life? What if we finally learned to free ourselves from guilt and enjoy…
Showing kindness, especially with ourselves, can sometimes be quite a challenge. Society has always sent us images of ideals to check off in order to fit into the mold.
As summer approaches, they are even accentuated with the absolute desire to display a perfect body on the beach.
At My Gym, we want to break the codes and take care of ourselves for ourselves and not for the image we should project to others.
We want you to learn to love yourself as you are. We want #bodypositive to gain ground.
To do this, let’s let go and spend, perhaps for the first time, an uninhibited summer at the beach.
To do this, here are some mantras to repeat over and over:
The perfect body does not exist!
It does not exist because depending on cultures, lifestyles, beliefs… and many other elements, the body is perceived differently depending on the person who looks at it.
So, your body must make you feel good and above all it must please you (even if it does not meet the criteria of Fashion Week).
Rolls, stretch marks, dry skin… or any other element that characterizes a body, is part of the norm.
We are also seeing more and more brands or influencers highlighting these subjects which have remained taboo for far too long.
We grew up on edited photos and that’s not real life. So these bodies considered “perfect” do not exist and if they exist in certain people
Play sports for the right reasons
The one who never did more sport before summer to anticipate the “swimsuit test” raise your hand! Many of us put unreasonable pressure on ourselves and do a lot of sport at a given time for a goal whose benefits it would be good to evaluate…
Exercising a lot and not often is not necessarily the right thing. better to take care of our body.
Sport should be a way to do good on a regular basis. It must enter our life routines to stay in good health, to relieve everyday stress, to experience moments of conviviality, to feel good in one’s body and in harmony with oneself..
. But in no case, just like a drastic diet, excessive sport to perfect your Summer Body is a solution that will reconcile you with your body in the long term.
Be kind to you
… But also with others. Let’s stop looking at and judging other bodies, just learn to accept them and see what is beautiful in each of them.
Then, we will certainly be able to have a more benevolent relationship with ourselves. Let’s stop believing that it’s never good enough and focus on the positive:
“this body allows me to exercise”; “to have children”; “to dance until the end of the night”… Everyone must find THEIR good reason.
The body changes throughout life
This seems to be an unstoppable logic, but who has never dreamed of finding the body of “their 20s”? But if you are no longer 20, you have to accept that this is not necessarily possible. This body has certainly experienced many events since then and has evolved. You have to take care of it.
So, let’s all try to have a summer without complexes, regardless of the destination, vacations are intended to do us good. Let’s avoid cluttering our minds with negative elements.
